An important update about Money Man: Refunded.

Posted by Ant - August 15th, 2024

Hey guys, I have some unfortunate news to disclose. While this may not come as a shock to many I still think it may be a little disappointing to hear. “Money Man: Refunded” is going to be delayed until next year.

The deadline I’ve put onto myself was not enough time to get the game finished, and while most of the game is complete there are many gaps to fill in, scenes to film and tons more polish and care being put into the project. I really, really care about this project and want to make something that’s a difficult, polished and well written experience and the clock is ticking so unfortunately the game will not be released during Q3 of this year.

The reasons for this are due to many family related things, going into college, work in the way, life and everything else straining my brain that slowed down the process. Everything could’ve been finished from the time I announced it could be released but I’ve been so overwhelmed and stressed and my mind still hasn’t accepted it yet. It’s like everything flashed before my eyes and I suddenly spawned in as this 18 year old game developer with everything in my past being a foggy mess.

This project has become larger and larger over the years and is finally in a state where all of the pieces are on the table and all I have to do is finish the puzzle. I’ve even got some interesting names attached to this so I’d like this to all be executed properly.

I will say that there may be stuff to look forward to in the meantime but until then I’ll still be pretty silent about my current projects until they are finished so please hold tight and be sure to look out for any future news posts. ;]

Once again I’m sorry for all of this and to those who are working on the project with me that aren’t getting many updates as well as other people I’ve attempted to, and failed to work with while simultaneously working on MMR, but just know that I appreciate all of you for going on this journey with me because this game has pretty much been my life for the past 4 years and it’s been amazing working on it.

This will be the last time I mention MMR until it's final and actual release date.

Check out the first trailer if you haven't already!

Thanks and I’ll catch you all on the flip side!

Take your time, man.

Take your time man, you dont want to overwork yourself into a corpse.

Yeah I've done that before, it sucks.

I'm so sorry about the delay, I understand how difficult it is to remaster a game like Money Man.

Take your time, maybe we will all continue waiting for you to do a project as important as MMR.

Good Luck :)

Thanks! :]

I've dabbled a bit in game dev myself with GDevelop and RPG Maker, and I know how much time it must take just to test and polish a single level, let alone an entire game. Take all the time you need, we get enough rushed, unpolished products from the so-called "triple-A" video game industry anyway.

You should maybe consider porting this to Steam afterwards and actually making some money off of Money Man: Refunded, with the sheer amount of time and work you've put into it so far. I made a profit of $9 (someone paid $12, and the engine I used, RPGMaker 2003, cost me $3 to buy off Steam) on itch.io when I put out "Squeakamo: A Quest for Cheese," so it wouldn't hurt to try. I also recommend Steam because I have a Steam Deck, and I would buy the game in a heartbeat if I could play in on the go!

FUCK

I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven, I'm simply here to apologize.

Yes, yes, that's fine. MMR has been in development for so long, a bunch more months are fineeeee

And it's a strangely fun suspense, knowing it won't come out anytime soon, but one day, when I get old, I'll return home from my old people activites, lay my old bones down in my bed, pull out the phone, and discover the game is finally out, all my oldness evaporating as I rush to the pc with childlike excitement for the game I've been hearing news of for unfathomable time amounts. It'll be a real kick.

Wow, I didn't think my game would be the fountain of youth.

RIGHT ON CLOCK DAY

REALLY MAAN

Yeahhhhhhhhh i forgot..
OOPS!

@Ant you are welcome :3

@Ant with all this dev time it's looking like it will be able to cure cancer!

I can only dream about what GTA 6 could do
